On the ground

Only boats with electric motors or hand-powered vessels are permitted on the lake, and a launch ramp on State Route 727 gives access along with a hand-launch site inside the campground. A 500-foot public beach lies on the lake's south shore, and swimming is allowed there during daylight hours only, with no lifeguards present. The Stonelick Lake Fishing Area draws anglers after bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, with a handicap-accessible fishing pier off the dam and another pier in the campground. The park's dam and spillway stand as its listed historic feature, anchoring the shoreline where much of the lake activity converges.

The Blue Heron Trail runs 2.79 miles, the longest named route mapped in the park. The Beechtree and Red Fox trails offer shorter walking options, and the agency notes the trails cross mostly level terrain suited to novice and intermediate cyclists. Settlement of the area began in 1798 when the towns of Bethel and Williamsburg were laid out, with many early settlers arriving from Kentucky, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Several clashes between settlers and Native Americans occurred here, as the area was situated between Kentucky settlements south of the Ohio River and Native American villages along the Little Miami River. William Slone Sr., a Revolutionary War soldier and bugler in General "Mad" Anthony Wayne's Army, is recorded as the first settler to locate near Edenton, Ohio. The park's campground offers more than 100 wooded campsites year-round along with a Camper Cabin, and sites include Electric, Premium, and Non-electric options, each with a paved pad, picnic table, and fire ring. Leashed pets are permitted throughout the park except in the shower house, restrooms, Camper Cabin, and beach. Stonelick State Park hosts Cincinnati Observatory's Stonelick Stargazers on select Saturday nights near the New Moon, drawing amateur astronomers to its dark skies.
