The park's named recesses give it its shape: Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, and Whispering Cave are the three caves highlighted by the park, each reached by trail. Waterfalls thread through the same corridors, including Broken Rock Falls, Devil's Bathtub, Lower Falls, and Upper Falls. Bridges tie the trail system together at several points, among them the A-Frame Bridge, Cedar Falls Upper Bridge, and Hemlock Bridge, along with a Dam/Spillway and a Historic Cabin marking the park's built history. Rock formations add further landmarks along the way — Eagle Rock, Honey Comb Weathering, Sphinx Head, Turtle Rock, and Whale In The Wall — with a natural feature called The Squeeze and a designated Scenic Overlook rounding out the named stops.
ODNR maintains trails through the park, and several named routes measured near the park run from short connectors to longer hauls. The Buckeye Bypass Trail covers 3.68 miles and the Buckeye Trail 3.08 miles, while the Gorge Overlook Trail runs 2.64 miles and the Buckeye/Bridle route 2.04 miles. Shorter links include the Old Man's Cave to Whispering Cave Loop at 1.58 miles, the Rose Lake Trail at 1.21 miles, and the Cedar Falls Trail at 0.33 miles, among other short segments such as the Broken Rock Trail and Whispering Cave Trail. Rose Lake itself covers 17 acres and is open to fishing and to paddling or boats with electric motors, with access via a hiking trail off State Route 374.
